Independent Artist Week was a huge success! We had so many unique events, artists, and vendors! We want to send out a GIANT thank you to all the past and new participants and the historical neighborhood of Fillmore! Monday, September 5, 2011:  LABOR OF LOVE – BBQ Cooking Contest! Fillmore Center Plaza (Fillmore & O’Farrell Street)

“Labor of Love” a live art celebration.  Live performances, live painting, and art sales are sure to keep the plaza full.  What is Labor Day without BBQ? This year we kick off the “Labor of Love” with a BBQ Cooking Contest! Local grill masters are inviting to put their best sauce, grilling styles and seasonings to the test. BBQ, Live performances, a section for kids to create arts and crafts- who could ask for more! “Labor of Love” is the place to be for Labor Day.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011: OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS Yoshi’s SF

“Opportunity Knocks” a speed dating meets networking event where emerging artists have 15-minutes to meet one-on-one with industry professionals to show their work, gather advice on how to take their craft to the next level, or how to grow the audience for their work.  Music producers, entertainment-marketing specialists, fashion executives, record labels and art gallery owners donate their time to support up-and-coming artists. Artists are encouraged to bring their music, portfolios, scripts, apparel, or other artistic medium for critique.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011: GO GREEN African American Art & Culture Complex

“Go Green” a sustainability/ eco art event art fair.  This year we are hosting a clothing swap and eco art demonstrations for painting and fashion. There will also be a youth component with a representative from Alliance for Climate Education (ACE).

Thursday, September 8, 2011: “THANK YOU” AWARDS African American Art & Culture Complex

“Thank You” Awards Ceremony – This is our official celebration to say “thank you” to amazing Bay Area Artists, Art Supporters and Advocates who are on the front lines of the independent art movement. These persons have done exceptional work to empower others through art.

Friday, September 9, 2011: THE FILLMORE ART WALK Fillmore (between Post and Mc Allister)

“The Fillmore Art Walk” is a multi-location art celebration and an assortment of one-night-only pop-up galleries along Fillmore Street featuring live painting, video/DJ Showcase, live music, supplemented by food and drink specials from the restaurants and lounges along Fillmore Street.

Sunday, September 11, 2011: CELEBRATE COMMUNITY- OFFICIAL FINALE with SAN FRANCISCO’S WESTERN ADDITION SUNDAY STREETS  Fillmore between Fulton and Sutter

Infin8 Sync extends IAW to partner with “San Francisco’s Official Block Party”- Western Addition’s Sunday Streets! Join us for a day of games, family fun activities, art walls for emerging street artists, music, dance and more!

 

There was some thing for everybody! Volunteer, Perform, or Vend next year!
