Gallery 1307 turns 1!

Created as a pop up gallery space  in the heart of the Fillmore during Independent Artist Week 2011, the Gallery has expanded and provides an outlet for artists and the community to create art, enjoy art and build community through art throughout the year.

Since July 1,2011 Gallery 1307 has showcased over 80 emerging, seasoned, elderly and youth artists. Gallery owners Melonie and Melorra Green are experienced art programmers, curators and producers with a passion for what art can bring to a community and for the enrichment of young people.

We are partnered with and/or supported or sponsored by: the African American Art & Cultural Complex, Grants For The Arts, the SF Arts Commission, Nexus Art Reach, Urban Solutions, the Fillmore Center, and a host of other organizations and individuals.

So far, we have  had wonderful events such as, the July 1st, 2011  Art Walk, Sept 9th, 2011 Art Walk, Sunday Streets on Sept 11th, 2011, “Synchronize” a DJ Symposium held on October 23rd,2011  and we also house continuing Capoeira classes on Thursday nights 6:30-8. $10/class.

As you can see we are open to and have the capacity to house a wide array of events. Consider Gallery 1307 your space to showcase, premiere, host events, have meetings, workshops, host dance performances and movie screenings, and much much more!
